The Nancy Drew Sleuth Kits

We have always been big Nancy Drew fans. When the movie came out in 2007, we fell in love with Nancy Drew’s sleuth kit. Keeping an eye out for one to come out in the stores, we were disappointed when there were none to buy. A while after that I discovered a new hobby. Ductagami, the art of forming duct tape into fun accessories like totes, wallets, bracelets, etc.. What happened when I put Nancy Drew and duct tape together? The Nancy Drew Duct Tape Sleuth Kit was born.

If you are wondering what to include in a sleuth kit, this is a description of my sleuth kit:

-the duct tape sleuth bag (with a beige or white canvas strap, Velcro, pockets to hold the items below, )

-a magnifying glass

-a penlight

-a notepad

-a pen

-a pencil

The bags on this page are not for sale, but if you are interested in buying a sleuth kit, click here to go to the For Sale page.

Here are the pictures of the kits I have made from newest to oldest.

    Thank you!

My daughter loves Nancy Drew. She has read 10 or more of her books so far. I saw the comment above that you are no longer seeling your bags. I was wondering if that we still true. We would love to buy one if you are selling them again.
    Thank you.

So far i haven’t found Nancy Drew bags anywhere like in the movie. This is the very reason why i made my own. Since i dont know how to use a sowing machine i made the bag with duct tape.

At the moment, i am pretty busy and am no longer selling the bags. However i will notify you if i ever get any free time to make one. If you would like to make one yourself, all you have to do is learn the mechanics of assembling a duct tape bag. Other than that its just a duct tape bag that i based of of the Nancy Drew movie. Thanks for visiting my blog 🙂

These kits are fantastic. My daughter loves making wallets out of duct tape and has been asking for a Nancy drew kit. How perfect to combine both!! I would love to buy one if you have more.

I don’t know of any place that sells ND bags, that’s why I made some of my own. I use duct tape on cardboard(to make it sturdy), and on the flap I use index cards under the tape.
Thanks for looking at my blog!

    • Hi Amy, I use lots of duct tape(of course), but to give the bag stability I use cardboard and index cards under the duct tape.

    • Thanks so much! Well, first you must have a magnifying glass. I don’t know what sleuth kit is complete without a magnifying glass! I also like to include a pen and/or pencil and a notepad for writing down important clues. A penlight is also good to have in case the unexpected happens!
      I hope this list helps!
